What if a food tour is sold out?

If a date and time is sold out, there is always a good chance that we will add an additional tour on that day. Please email us to let us know what date you are interested in if you do not see availability.

What if my food tour is cancelled?

The only reason that a date can be cancelled is due a 2 person minimum policy. In case you were the only person that had booked the trip, you will be reimbursed in the same way you paid and we´ll contact you 12 hours before your date tour.

Do I need to purchase a ticket if I’m not eating or drinking?

Yes, everyone must purchase a ticket whether they plan to participate in the food tastings or not.

Where do each of the Food Tours start?

Each Tour starts at a different location depending on the tour route. Click on our tour you desire to find the precise address where we´ll meet us.

What about taking children on the tour?

Only in the GDL Taste Tour we offer tickets for children between 7 and 11 years old, the tour is almost three hours long and some children have a limited attention duration and therefore the tour may not be appropriate for some of them. When doing a wine/liquor taste, youngers than 18 years old will be provided with a non-alcoholic beverage. Since there is a lot of standing and walking, please consider this when deciding whether the tour is appropriate for your child.

If I am bringing an infant/very young child, do I need to purchase a ticket for them?

If you are bringing an infant younger than 7 years old they will not be participating in the tastings, you do not need to purchase a ticket for them.

Do we only walk around and sample food?

Of course not! Guadalajara Food Tours combines architecture, historical facts, local culture and culinary insight into a unique 2.5-hour experience.

How much food is served on the GDL Taste Tour?

We serve enough food that for most participants, lunch afterwards is not necessary. With the combination of drink and food tastings along with breaks for architectural, cultural, and historical insight, most participants are comfortably full after our food tours. Please understand our food tours are not intended to replace breakfast and lunch combined, so please consider eating breakfast before the tour.

Can I book a private group tour?

Yes, both tours are available to be private tours.

How much walking is involved?

Tours generally last 2.5 hours and participants can expect to be standing or walking for a majority of the time. We walk at a moderate step for at least 30 minutes total the tour and we also provide sit-down locations during the walking.

Do our tours have anything to offer a native Tapatio?

Guadalajara locals participate to better understand about the neighbourhoods and the city in which they live in as well as take advantage of knowing the best restaurants and bars in Guadalajara right here in Downtown, as well as the opportunity to interact with people from all around Mexico and the World.

Is the tour wheelchair and baby stroller accessible?

We are sorry, both tours are not wheelchair accessible.

What if I have dietary restrictions or allergies?

Please be sure and let us know if you or any in your group have a dietary restriction by email.

Are there vegetarian options on the tour?

Yes, all tours offer alternative tasting options for vegetarians.

Can I shop during the tour?

We ask to shop until the end of the tour so that we can stay on our food-tasting schedule and continue with the informative tour and food tastings in a timely manner.

Does the tour guide accept gratuities?

Gratuities are greatly appreciated, although not mandatory. The standard gratuity in the tourist industry is 15%.

Are any beverages served on the tour?

Both tours have all drinks tasting included in the tour. Additionally, water is provided throughout all of our tours.

Is wine tasting included on the tour?

Yes, we participate in wine/liquor tastings in both of our food and cultural walking tours.

Does the tour end at the same place we meet?

No, both tours do not finish at the same location as the meeting point. All participants receive a map with directions included at the beginning of the tour. Return tips can be accomplished by walking or by taking a yellow taxi.

What restaurants and bars will we visit on the tour?

A list of all the current tasting locations can be found in each tour page. Food-tasting locations can change without notice.

Are tours offered in English?

Yes, when purchasing in the English version of this site, tours will be in English and Spanish.

What happens if it rains?

The tours are held rain or shine. In the event of inclement weather, we will be able to go inside many of the establishments on the tour.

Are bathrooms available during the tour?

Yes, bathrooms are available during the tour at selected locations.

Are cameras allowed on the tour?

Yes, cameras and filming are allowed during the tour.

Is there parking near the tour meeting point?

Yes, there is public parking located near the meeting points.
